Welcome to the Social Studies Standards Review On-Line Work Space!


The purpose of this space is to allow for an on-line work space in order to share comments and information as we begin the Colorado Model Content Standards Review process.

Members of the public are encouraged to use this page to follow the work of the subcommittees. If you are not a member of the subcommittee you will find that only members of the committees are able to write directly to the wiki page. If you would like to contribute to the work, please post your comments on this wiki at the Public Comments Discussion Area, or send your comments or ideas to standards_review_com@cde.state.co.us.

Social Studies is in Phase II of the revision cycle of Colorado Model Content Standards and include history, geography, civic, and economics subcommittees. The financial Literacy Standards will be written during this phase, as well, in conjunction with the Math and Economic standards revision.

We took a giant step forward on May 16! I was both impressed and exhausted by the effort. I'm hoping that our committee would take a little time to compare our grade-level OUT lists and check them against the national geography standards to identify gaps. I know that we'll add more flesh later, but at least we would know if we are missing big ticket items. It may be harder to add those in at a later stage.
